Who we are

GEER Australia represents a group of researchers and industry members, from all over Australia who care about the rising residential energy costs. In particular for disadvantaged and low income people and its direct impact on their well-being.  GEER is Australia’s Peak Research Body on Residential Energy efficiency and through their research and collaborative efforts with the government, not-for-profit and energy sectors, hope to address this major issue.  GEER offers a unique collective ‘think tank’ that can view a challenge or issue through multiple lenses.

So why subscribe to GEER and what makes GEER different from other Energy Efficiency Organisations? 

Its focus is on Residential households exclusively and in particular low income households

GEER can conduct a variety of energy efficiency related tasks, projects and analyses for your organisation

All publications on the site have been subject to academic rigour and are evidence based

GEER is also subscriber based to community organisations that work directly with low income households

GEER brings together the brightest academic and industry minds nationwide (the Think Tank) from eight different Universities, the CSIRO, the Dept of Environment & Energy and NGO’s providing significant depth and breadth of knowledge, insight, expertise and research capabilities

This Think Tank therefore effectively offers a one stop shop for all matters relating to energy efficiency for Residential and low income households

Publications on the web site have been GEER reviewed which is written in everyday English for easy consumption
